Overview

Visit the best of Luxor’s East and West Bank attractions with this private guided tour. Highlights include the Temple of Karnak, the Theban Necropolis, the Valley of the Kings, the Colossi of Memnon, and the Temple of Ramses III, all of which you’ll experience with a local guide by your side.

Itinerary:

Our Egyptology tour guide will pick you up at your Luxor hotel, train station or airport. Drive in nature for about 30  minutes to the West Bank, enjoy the scenery and views of the green farms and the countryside of Luxor, to start by visiting the Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs from the New kingdom carved their tombs in the mountains aiming to hide their treasure and protect their mummies. Your tour guide will explain everything from outside as no guiding inside the tombs. Then, explore the best 3 selected tombs from the open ones.

Porceed to Medinat Habu, located at the southern end of the Theban Necropolis, where the first labor strike in history against their king Ramesses III was launched. This memorial temple of Ramesses III is one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt and surrounded by a massive mud-brick enclosure wall, which may have been fortified.

Stop for some nice photos in front of the two 17 meters statues of Memnon, once decorating the entrance of the biggest funeral temple of king Amenhotep III from the New Kingdom in the West Bank. Then, lunchtime in a local restaurant (beverages are not included).

Back to the East Bank to see the largest temple ever; Karnak Temple built through 2000 years, covering an area of about 63 acres. Enjoy the stories and legends of the ancient Egyptian Gods among its enormous halls and pillars.

Your tour will be ended by visiting Luxor temple, with its beautiful obelisk and statues built first by king Amenhotep III from the 18th dynasty and completed by the great pharaoh Ramesses II during the 19th dynasty, where ancient Egyptian, Christian, and Islamic features are exhibited. Later on, you will be transferred to your east bank hotel in Luxor.
